    Your dermatologist examines the spot and checks anything unusual — a biopsy if needed.

  2. A plan and a date

    You learn whether removal is medical or cosmetic, what to expect, and book the procedure visit.

  3. The removal visit

    Numbing, then a short procedure. Some cysts and larger moles need a small stitch.

Can it be removed at the first visit?
No — the first visit is a consultation so the spot can be examined properly. The procedure is scheduled as a separate visit.
Will insurance cover it or is it cosmetic?
Insurance covers medically necessary removal; purely cosmetic removal is self-pay. We tell you at the consultation, before anything is scheduled.
Does the removal hurt, and will there be a scar?
A quick numbing pinch, then no pain. Usually a small scar that fades; we place cuts to keep it minimal.
