Skin cancer is the most common cancer in the United States, and early detection saves lives. A full-body skin exam is a quick, comfortable way to have a dermatologist evaluate your skin from head to toe, looking for moles or spots that may need a closer look.
During your exam, our dermatologists use trained clinical judgment and dermoscopy, a magnified imaging technique, to assess suspicious lesions. If we find anything concerning, we can often perform a biopsy during the same visit so you get answers quickly and begin any needed treatment without delay.
We recommend regular skin checks for everyone, and more frequent exams if you have a personal or family history of skin cancer, many moles, fair skin, or significant sun exposure. We will also teach you how to perform self-exams at home so you know what changes to watch for between visits.
